The Beginning of a Dream

Believe in Dreams is the creation of Chandler Lutz, a singer and actor from Moorestown, NJ. As a young child, Chandler worked with her parents, Susan and Richard Lutz, to raise awareness and resources for the Dreams Foundation, the first national wish-granting organization for adults suffering life-limiting illness. Her creativity and contributions were key elements of The Angel Ball Foundation, a charity that, in partnership with the Dream Foundation, raised funds donated to help the terminally ill realize their dreams.

These early experiences with the Angel Ball Foundation, as well as participation with the Make a Wish Foundation, opened Chandler’s eyes to the importance of believing in dreams, and helping make dreams come true – especially for people for whom dreams provide such a critical lifeline of hope and well-being. With the help of the Angel Ball Foundation and its supporters, Chandler evolved its dream-fulfilling mission to include seriously and chronically ill adults and children. She also worked to raise the profile of the Foundation, developing strategic partnerships and planning and initiating a series of high-profile events to help raise funds for the seriously ill and their families. And so, Believe in Dreams was born.

Today, Believe in Dreams has raised more than $500,000, and has helped many facing serious illnesses to enjoy an improved quality of life, while also directly supporting those dedicated to finding their cures. Our work benefits national foundations including St Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Starlight Children’s Foundation, and the Maximum Hope Foundation. On January 1, 2010, Chandler and Believe in Dreams launched a year-long initiative to raise $1 million in one year. Together, Chandler, Believe in Dreams, its partners, and its contributors are spreading hope that miracles can happen, even during the hardest times… and that dreams really can come true.
